Rutgers students at Newark, Camden, and New Brunswick campuses voted in favor of urging the school to divest from companies involved with Israel and to terminate its relationship with with Tel Aviv University. In Newark, 71% of students voted to divest and 65% voted to end the relationship with Tel Aviv University. Students at more than 40 college campuses across the country have organized encampment protests, including Princeton and Rutgers-New Brunswick, in solidarity with Palestine and demanding their schools end investments that support Israel’s human rights violations.
