Regional news
New Jersey workers and businesses will be able to work for competing companies after the Federal Trade Commission’s recent decision to ban noncompete agreements, a rule which upheld that employment restriction. The FTC argues these agreements limit economic mobility for workers, affecting around 30 million people or 18% of the country’s workforce. The move is expected to face legal challenges, including a lawsuit already filed by tax services firm Ryan LLC. The FTC rule won’t come into effect until 120 days after its documentation in the Federal Register.
