South Orange-Maplewood Community Coalition on Race to host “Deconstructing Racism Workshop” on Apr. 11 in Maplewood. The class is from 7-9 p.m. at SOMA Adult School. Barbara Velazquez will discuss an overview of structural and systemic racism, the culture of white supremacy, and ways to disrupt it. Preregistration is required. Add to 📅.

PSEG Nuclear, a subsidiary of Newark’s Public Service Enterprise Group, plans to seek license renewals for its three nuclear power plants in South Jersey. Environmental groups raised concern for potential long-term environmental and financial effects the plants may have on the state. PSEG had previously threatened to close the plants after it determined the plants were no longer profitable. The company was then awarded a $300 million annual subsidy that will continue until June 2025. PSEG plans to formally submit renewal applications in 2027.
