New Jersey residents will be able to experience a near total solar eclipse Apr. 8. The eclipse will begin at 2:14 p.m. and peak at 3:26 p.m. before ending at by 4:37 p.m. The eclipse will peak at 90 percent in North Jersey. Viewing a solar eclipse through specialized filters and glasses is recommended to avoid eye damage.
