Regional news

The COVID-19 pandemic has disproportionately impacted Black and Latino populations across all aspects of life, not just health outcomes, according to a recent N.J. report. These communities were found to be more likely to work essential roles, live in multigenerational homes, or experience limited access to internet or computers, all of which contributed to a higher likelihood of contracting COVID-19 or falling behind in school. The report, an Independent Review of N.J.’s Response to the Pandemic, identifies structural racism as a key factor driving these disparities.
