Out Montclair has community grant money available to disburse to individuals in need of emergency funds to cover one-time costs or an unexpected expense. The grants are within the $50-$1,800 range and will be paid directly to the third-party requiring payment. Applications for grants are accepted by email.

New Jersey state and local agencies spent at least $35 million to purchase banned surveillance cameras, with at least $15 million sourced from federal COVID relief funds. The cameras are made by Dahua Technology, the second largest surveillance company in the world and banned by the U.S. in 2019 for having been implicated in surveilling the Uyghur people in Xinjiang. Tamer Zakhary, CEO of N.J. surveillance company Packetalk, was charged with three counts of wire fraud, and a count of false statements for lying about rebranding the Dahua cameras.
