Newark resident Eugene Thacker was hit struck and killed by a driver on Dec. 31

Newark resident Eugene Thacker, age 80, was hit struck and killed by a driver at the intersection of Clinton Avenue and Irvine Turner Boulevard on Dec. 31. Thacker was transported to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver involved stayed at the scene and was unharmed. Police say no arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.
