500 Essex County residents report stolen SNAP benefits

Some Essex County residents are reporting their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefit card balances stolen. The county has received approximately 500 reports of benefits being electronically stolen since Dec. 1. Affected individuals can fill out an online form through the Division of Family Development to have their benefits reissued. Residents should also request a replacement EBT card by calling the Essex County Division of Family Assistance and Benefits.
