Newark is accepting applications for its “Retail Reactivation Grant,” designed for small businesses and non-profit organizations. The grant will provide up to $300K for nonprofits and organizations that sign a new lease of at least two years for currently vacant spaces of 10K square feet or less, and $650K to organizations that sign a lease for spaces over 10K square feet. The grant can fund up to 90% of eligible total project costs. Grant funds can be used for interior or exterior building improvements or purchasing and installing new furniture, fixtures, and equipment. Interested applicants can submit an application online.
