Presbytery of Northeast N.J. to host a “Family Flu Clinic” on Dec. 2 in Newark. The event, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., will offer flu vaccinations for children 6 months and older at Memorial West United Presbyterian Church, 286 South 7th St. An adult must be present and provide a photo ID. Newark LGBTQ Community Center to host 2023 “World AIDS Day” event Dec. 4. The event is from 12-4 p.m. at Newark Public Library’s Centennial Hall. The event will feature resources from 14 different community organizations. Pre-register online. Add to 📅.

The open house will run from 6-8 p.m. Prospective students will be able to learn more about the school’s Allied Health Services Academy, Jobs for America’s Graduates, and Pre-College Dual Enrollment programs. New Jersey is moving forward with its plans to grow offshore wind production, despite the recent loss of two major wind farm projects due to their developer, Orsted, canceling its contract. The state board of public utilities voted Nov. 17 to seek bids for a transmission facility that would allow for the connection of multiple offshore wind projects to the onshore electrical grid.

New Jersey residents can expect increase in average temperatures, more heavy rain and hotter days as average global temperatures predicted to surpass 1.5°C by 2030. Day- and night-time average temperatures could increase by as much as four degrees, increasing the number of days above 95°F by up to two weeks and making the heaviest rainstorms drop up to 30 percent more rain. World leaders are meeting this month for the 28th annual COP climate change negotiations conference in ongoing effort to coordinate a worldwide response to the climate crisis.
