Belleville library plans teen advisory board meeting Nov. 27. The meeting is from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Belleville library. Members will discuss library programs and services for the teen community. Participants are eligible to receive volunteer credits. Add to 📅.

Bloomfield Center Alliance to host 2023 “Small Business Spectacular: Holiday Hunt” Nov. 25. The event is from 1-4 p.m. and features a scavenger hunt, free hot chocolate, coffee, snacks from select restaurants, and a chance to win a holiday prize basket. There will be DIY ornaments, live music, and a live ice carving demo at Six Points Plaza. Add to 📅.

Nutley’s Chamber of Commerce plans the 2023 “Annual Santa’s Arrival” at Nutley High School Park Oval Nov. 24. Families can arrive at 1 p.m. and the event starts at 2 p.m. Children can send letters to Santa in a mailbox outside the Oval. A rain date is scheduled for Nov. 25 at 10 a.m. Add to 📅.

U.S. Department of Agriculture’s “plant hardiness zone map” shows 2.5 degree Fahrenheit warming trend across U.S. in last 11 years. New Jersey gardeners are more likely to experience warmer extreme minimum temperatures, changing which plants can be grown outdoors. Essex County has warmed by one zone, with extreme minimum temperatures up to 10 degrees warmer.
