Maplewood library plans free “Digital Device Clinics” at the adult services desk Nov. 16 and 30. The drop-in hours are 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The library will offer one-on-one support to people with questions about using a cell phone or other electronic device. No repair services will be provided. Office of the Public Defender filed a lawsuit against the state police for allegedly failing to update expunged criminal records. 46K people have been waiting, some for years, for state police to update records that impact job and housing prospects. In 2019, the state police received $15M to update old data systems and hire staff to process documents within a reasonable timeframe. But the backlog has gotten worse, according to experts.
