East Orange Fire Department plans free smoke detector distribution program for residents with vision or hearing disabilities. Specialized vibrating and strobe light alarms will be given to those who qualify. Residents should contact the department by phone.

Orange’s 2023 “Tour de Parks” historic bike tour will be held at Monte Irvin Park on Oct. 21. The event is from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and registration is available on Orange recreation’s website. Free helmets will be available for those participating in the morning’s bike safety program. Add to 📅.

New Jersey Citizen Action is available to conduct free virtual or in-person workshops on fair housing rights and discrimination for local organizations. Workshops can be customized to respond to serve particular needs, including dealing with sexual harassment or discrimination against immigrants, Muslims, formerly incarcerated people, LGBTQ+ people, people with disabilities, and other groups. Workshops are available in English and in Spanish.
