A repavement project will begin the week of November 9 on Glenwood Avenue from Six Points to the East Orange border. The project is being funded through a NJDOT Local Aid grant and Transit Village grant.
“Over the last few years, we have made it a priority to make it safer for families to get around town as both motorists and pedestrians,” said Mayor Venezia. “This project, which will be of no cost to taxpayers, will repave a large section of road and improve the safety of our community. We will continue to apply for as much grant funding as possible to fund these road and safety projects.”
As part of the project, some sidewalks and curbs will be reconstructed and ADA compliant handicap access ramps will be installed at all intersections. Pavement striping will also be done to promote traffic calming and rapid flashing beacons will promote pedestrian safety.

Township of Bloomfield Offers Expanded Shuttle Bus Service After Crucial Bus Route Vacated by DeCamp
Bloomfield Mayor Michael Venezia wants residents to be aware of the alternate means by which they can access New York City now that the DeCamp bus company has terminated its commuter service from Bloomfield to New York City. This includes an expansion of the Townships’ existing shuttle service beginning on April 10, that will take residents to the Allwood (Clifton) Park & Ride from which they can transfer to the 192 to the Port Authority, as well as several other alternatives which are listed below.
Bloomfield Township Launching Monthly Mental Health Workshops Starting in March
The Township of Bloomfield Department of Human Services, in partnership with Temple Ner Tamid and Rabbi Katz, will be hosting a monthly workshop to help equip parents and caregivers of children, teens, and young adults with the support and information they need to understand and care for the mental health of their children. The workshops will be held at Temple Ner Tamid (936 Broad Street, Bloomfield, NJ) on Wednesdays from 7:30-8:30 P.M. on March 29, April 26, May 31, June 21, July 19, and August 23.
